Cherished WordsWhile I was up north visiting my kids this weekend,
I had a rewarding short conversation with my son, who is only 6. It started
with the simple statement, "I'm proud to have you as my son." I could tell it
caught his attention. He stopped what he was doing to process it, smiled, then
replied, "Can you write that down for me, because I don't want to forget it,
like while I'm sleeping?" Before I could answer he continued, "In fact, can you
repeat it again because I already forgot it?" I did as he wished, then added,
"Don't worry, I won't ever let you forget it."
That was the best Father's Day present I could have
asked for.
